Events Essence of Life Center/Darryl Clark is involved with:
Mark the date: January 14, 2019; 8PM. Darryl Clark will be facilitating "Rock the Meditation" in Clark, New Jersey. Darryl Clark, an accomplished specialist in meditation for over 20 years, will be the central figure in an initiative to enlighten, help bring about relaxation, balance and self awareness, to individuals to bring in the new year. The event is being held at and being hosted by "School of Rock" Music School at 1173 Raritan Road, Clark, NJ. This unique event will consist of: a brief discourse on benefits (how meditation can help you personally), types, and techniques of meditation; a wellness model for 2019; preparation for, and a guided mediation session [by Darryl Clark] incorporating use of productive energy to help enhance the capability of attaining personal worthy goals. The environment will be one of an eclectic and serene nature utilizing music from nontraditional sources including 'rock' & 'jazz'. Mark the date: October 14, 2020, 8AM (2nd Saturday in October). Plainfield, NJ will host it's tenth annual "Historic 5K Walk/Run for Life". The event is a fund raiser intended to address 5 key areas [known as pillars]. The 5 Pillars the Walk/Run is based on are: 1) Engage the community with a sense of unity bridging all differences and backgrounds of people, 2) Highlight the beauty, rich history, and safety within Plainfield, 3) Encourage self esteem/pride and address needs of senior citizens and youth, 4) Increase health awareness and advocacy, 5) Raise funds for all the above. This event is held the 2nd Saturday in October annually.
Darryl Clark is the visionary and founder of the event. Darryl also is the CEO/chairman of a 9 person community leader board of directors who plan, coordinate/organize, and implement the event. The road race event is held in two forms, a 1 mile walk/run, and a 5K (3.1 mile) walk/run event. Both walk/runs take place through some of the most historic, interesting, and beautiful areas of the town. It is a family festive day that starts and ends at City Hall. There are vendors, bands and other entertainment, and awards for the competitors and spectators. Although there will be world class athletes competing, all levels of walker/runners will participate in this fun filled day. There is even a short "Lollipop Run" for the toddlers!

Walking/Running Club. Every Saturday morning (between April and September) from 8 AM until at least 9 AM you can find Darryl Clark hosting his walking/running club in beautiful Cedarbrook Park in Plainfield, NJ. As a community service Darryl offers a holistic approach to exercise through power walking and running. Utilizing the fundamental techniques of properly walking and running, Saturday mornings Darryl brings a fresh approach to getting/staying in shape. Darryl incorporates the mind and spirit in his morning sessions in addition to providing information on natural health and nutrition. It's a fun and inspiring time of wellness.
